Four Disciplines. One Standard of Excellence.
FRA Awards brings architecture, interiors, commercial spaces and product design together in one international programme. Select the category that best represents your project’s main purpose and outcome.
Choose the Field That Best Represents Your Work
Each discipline welcomes projects of different scales, typologies and creative approaches. The examples below are a guide rather than an exhaustive list.
Residential Interior Design
Interiors for private living, where space, materials and everyday use come together as one design.
Apartments · Houses & Villas · Residential Renovations · Private Amenities · Multi-unit Residential Interiors
Commercial & Office Space Design
Spaces for work, retail and hospitality that balance a clear identity with function, comfort and commercial purpose.
Workplaces · Offices · Retail & Showrooms · Hospitality · Restaurants & Bars · Cultural & Service Spaces
Architecture Design
Built and proposed architecture that resolves form, programme and place with care for people and the environment.
Residential · Commercial · Cultural · Civic & Institutional · Hospitality · Adaptive Reuse · Conceptual Architecture
Industrial & Product Design
Products and systems that combine real usefulness, sound engineering and a distinctive design language.
Furniture · Lighting · Homeware · Consumer Products · Workplace Products · Materials & Surfaces · Mobility & Equipment
If a project could fit more than one category, choose the one that best reflects its main design achievement. FRA Awards may suggest a different category where appropriate.
Three Levels of Recognition
Entries are considered within their selected discipline and may receive one of three levels of recognition based on the overall strength of the work.
Design of the Year
Awarded to at most one project in each discipline, representing the highest level of achievement in the 2026 programme.
FRA Winner
Awarded to projects with a compelling idea, confident execution and strong design merit.
Honourable Mention
Recognises a project with a notable idea, response or contribution that deserves distinction in its field.
Design Considered from Every Angle
Every entry is reviewed as a complete design response, with attention to both the thinking behind the project and the quality of its realised or proposed outcome.
The clarity, strength and distinction of the central idea.
The quality of resolution, craft, detailing and presentation.
How effectively the design serves its intended users and purpose.
The project’s relevance to its setting, audience and wider field.
Responsible consideration of resources, longevity and future value.
How much weight each criterion carries depends on the project’s category, scale and stated purpose.
