FRA Awards welcomes architects, interior designers, product designers, studios, brands and creative teams worldwide. Please read these guidelines before you start the online entry form.

01. Eligibility

  • Entries are open to independent practitioners, studios, firms, brands, manufacturers and multidisciplinary teams from any country.
  • Completed, in-progress, conceptual and prototype work may be entered, provided its current status is represented accurately.
  • The entrant must be the creator, rights holder or authorised representative of the submitted work.
  • Collaborative work is accepted. All principal contributors and image credits must be identified accurately.
  • There is no completion-year field or mandatory completion-date requirement for the 2026 entry cycle.

Original work only. Entries that infringe intellectual-property rights, contain misleading claims or misrepresent authorship may be disqualified.

02. Categories

Select the discipline that best represents the project’s main purpose and outcome. A project entered in more than one category requires a separate submission and fee for each category.

03. Submission Requirements

Entries are submitted online in English. Prepare the following before opening the form:

  1. Applicant details: company or studio name, contact name and a valid email address.
  2. Project details: project title and one primary award category.
  3. Design concept: an English statement of 150–500 words covering the brief, the central idea, your design response, key materials or methods, and the intended impact.
  4. Cover image: one image that best represents the project.
  5. Project gallery: 8–12 photographs, renders or diagrams showing the work as a complete design.
  6. Consent: confirmation that the information is accurate and that you have permission to submit and display the materials.

Image and File Guidance

  • Use clear, high-quality files suitable for digital review and publication.
  • Avoid dominant watermarks, decorative borders and unnecessary promotional text.
  • Upload only material for which publication permission and appropriate credits have been secured.
  • You can upload several files at once, and the form shows the maximum file size. If a file is too large, compress it before uploading.

  • The €350 trophy is optional and available only to awarded entrants. Purchasing a trophy has no effect on award results.

05. Evaluation Process

Entries are reviewed on the strength of the work presented. Evaluation considers the project as a whole, with particular attention to:

01

Originality

Clarity of concept, distinctiveness and relevance of the design response.

02

Function & Experience

How effectively the work addresses users, purpose and practical requirements.

03

Context & Responsibility

Thoughtful response to place, resources, longevity and wider impact.

04

Execution & Communication

Quality of resolution, craft and the clarity of submitted materials.

FRA Awards may contact entrants for clarification or additional material. Award decisions are final. Individual scores and reviewer comments are not released.

06. Awards & Recognition

Eligible entries may be recognised at one of the following levels:

  • Design of the Year — the highest distinction for exceptional work within the award cycle.
  • FRA Winner — awarded to projects demonstrating outstanding overall design quality.
  • Honourable Mention — recognising notable achievement and a strong contribution to the discipline.

Awarded entrants receive digital award materials and are included in the official FRA Awards winner archive. The optional physical trophy costs €350; VAT and international shipping are charged separately where applicable.

Results and announcement dates will be published through official FRA Awards channels after the final entry deadline.

07. Rights, Credits & Publicity

  • Copyright and ownership remain with the entrant and relevant rights holders.
  • By submitting, the entrant grants FRA Awards permission to store and review the entry for award administration.
  • If the project is awarded, the entrant grants FRA Awards a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to reproduce submitted text and images for award announcements, the winner archive, social media, press, exhibitions and FRA Awards promotional material, with reasonable credit.
  • The entrant is responsible for obtaining all required permissions from clients, collaborators, photographers and other rights holders before submission.
  • Do not submit confidential, restricted or commercially sensitive information that cannot be reviewed or published.

Personal information is handled in accordance with the FRA Awards Privacy Policy.

08. Changes, Withdrawal & Disqualification

  • Reasonable correction requests may be considered before the final deadline, but changes are not guaranteed once review has begun.
  • An entrant may request withdrawal; processed entry fees remain non-refundable except as stated above.
  • FRA Awards may reject or disqualify entries that are incomplete, unpaid, submitted to an unsuitable category, misleading, unlawful, infringing or inconsistent with these guidelines.
  • If circumstances require changes to dates or procedures, updated information will be published through official FRA Awards channels.
